Ketamine has been used medically for anesthesia and pain management since the 1960s, and its application in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy has been explored more recently, particularly for treating chronic pain.
IIn Colorado, the interest in and adoption of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy have grown, particularly in the last decade, as research has expanded on its potential benefits for treating various mental health conditions and symptoms, providing relief for those with depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

In Colorado, the legal status of psychedelics has evolved, particularly with the passing of Proposition 122 in November 2022. This measure decriminalized the personal use and possession of certain natural psychedelics, including psilocybin mushrooms, for individuals over the age of 21.
As of now, the detailed regulations and guidelines for the therapeutic use of psychedelics other than ketamine are still under development, and it is not legal for a clinician to prescribe these psychedelics for medical use.
Noma Therapy does not offer any psychedelics other than ketamine as part of its program.
